Prototyping experimental pilot line activities

The Pilot line has been completed and commissioned so far and now the planned tests are in progress by CNGV with the assistance of BMP, even though the COVID-19 health pandemic has caused a delay in the test schedule. Furthermore two severe damages unexpectedly occurred in the winding machine feeding systems affecting the electrification. BMP repaired the damages, re-tuned the equipment and successfully produced the first complete CNG cylinder using impregnated carbon fiber. These incidents have caused delay in the project.

The other 3 liners, that have been already hydroformed, are ready to be wrapped up with carbon fiber. They will be included in a batch designed to undergo the official testing with ABS.

The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 723030.
